Openly AI-reviewed journal: review is performed by AI, publication is approved by a human. AI review policy

Publication ethics

Originality, ethics approval, conflicts of interest and use of AI by authors.

PeerAI follows the COPE Core Practices as far as they apply to an automated journal. Authors confirm the following declarations when they submit; the AI reviewers assess them under the “Ethics and transparency” criterion.

  • The work is original, has not been published before and is not under review elsewhere.
  • All authors approved the submission.
  • Conflicts of interest and funding are declared.
  • Research on humans or animals has ethics approval, stated in the paper. Missing ethics approval is a critical fail, so the reviewer votes Reject.
  • Any use of AI tools by the authors in writing the paper is declared.

Integrity checks

Every paid submission is compared with earlier submissions and published papers, and its references are checked against Crossref. Papers with high similarity or many unresolvable references are rejected without review.

Hidden content and instructions aimed at AI

Text hidden from readers (white, tiny, invisible or off-page text) and instructions aimed at AI reviewers are not allowed anywhere in a manuscript, its metadata or annotations. They block the submission at the free pre-checks. Accounts with repeated findings lose their submission rights until the journal reviews them.
